Flow: Access to Optimum performance

Optimum performance. It’s one of the reasons I’ve come to so enjoy extended opportunities in the kitchen to prepare meals. A flow can emerge, a focus, that allows all the worries and distractions of the day to slip away. The task literally at hand, like chopping onions, or stirring the tomato sauce, then becomes the gravitational center of our being.

Exceptional athletes and artists rely on these states for the successful execution of their work. But each of us has the ability to find our own access to peak performance, when our inherent potential is demonstrated through concrete actions.

Is there a truer path to joy?
